READING "CHARLOTTE'S WEB" IN THE CLASSROOM
1º ESO students have enjoyed reading both at home and in the classroom the beautiful story of a clever spider and a girl and her pig.... The vocabulary, the poetic language, the structure, the moving story and characters have been their objet of study and finally materialized in art projects like the ones on display in the school.
YOUNG SCIENTISTS
WATER CYCLE IN THE CLASSROOM. February, 2016
Science teacher Concepción Castellano and 1st of ESO students simulated part of a water cycle in the classroom as follows: Leaving the water in the bowl so it evaporated and condensed in the plastic wrap. It should have ended inside the mug simulating precipitation. Even when the bowl was broken the experiment worked quite well.

READING ASSIGNMENTS ON DISPLAY IN THE SCHOOL HALL:
winners of the BEST GRENDEL competition

There are 3 groups of 1º eso Sección this year : 1ºA, 1ºB,1ºC.
Teachers and Staff want to welcome all of them and wish them a very successful and fun school year.
IF YOU LIKE BOOKS, WE RECOMMEND YOU THIS CHRISTMAS BOOK TO READ DURING THE HOLIDAYS:
"On a dark, snowy Christmas Eve, a young man hurrying home for a family celebration enters a chandler's shop to buy a candle for his lantern. He scoffs at the beautifully sculpted creations of the old chandler and instead purchases a simple, inexpensive Christmas candle that the chandler warns him he may find costly...."
AND WHY NOT WATCH IN ENGLISH THE CLASSIC FILM "POLAR EXPRESS" ?
ALDEBARÁN 25th ANNIVERSARY IN THE ENGLISH CLASS
1º eso students wrote Acrostic Poems in their English lesson to describe the school. Lots of beautiful ideas about the school and what it means to us came up in their poems as well as really fun nonsense acrostics. Here are some examples.
A big WELLCOME TO ALDEBARÁN SECONDARY SCHOOL to all 1º eso students.
All bilingual teachers hope this exciting first school year will be most interesting to you all.
SECOND TERM
St.Valentine's Poem Competition 2014. 1º eso. All the poems read were good. Some showed us how talented our students are. But there could only be a few winners and here they are:

COME AND READ THEM!
We have read a bit of Science Fiction - "the fun they had" by Isaac Asimov. We didn't know how famous he'd been and that there's even an Asteroid named after him.
But our main reading adventure this year is "CHARLOTTE'S WEB"
We are learning all about Farms, life in a Farm, animals, crops, sounds, smells and most important the love for all creatures in nature big and small.
We will prepare a Poem competition for St. Valentine too.
FIRTS TERM
We celebrated Thanksgiving with our American Language assistants: Tyler and Marlowe. We also wrote a short Thankyou note each that is still on the wall.
